Use Omaha Parade of Homes research carefully

Use the completed 2026 fall tour as project evidence while keeping participation, awards and availability separate.

The 2026 fall event has concluded

The organizer listed the fall Parade of Homes for October 17–18 and 24–25, 2026. Those dates have passed. Consult the official organizer for future events and any continuing home information.

Record what the event actually proves

A dated tour entry can document a builder and a particular home. Participation does not establish an award, current availability, a contractor license or suitability for a different property.

For an award, retain the organizer, year, category and named recipient. A company testimonial or an uncorroborated award claim should not be converted into verified award credit.

Use examples to ask better project questions

When reviewing a show home, separate the floor plan from upgrades, lot conditions, landscape work and furnishings. Ask which items are included in a proposed contract and which suppliers or designers contributed to the example.

Ask for a recent project similar to your own site and budget. An impressive tour home can inspire a brief, but a relevant construction reference is a separate part of choosing a builder.

Build a project comparison sheet

For each relevant example, record the builder, event season, home or entry identifier and the official source. Then separate what you can observe from what needs confirmation. A photographed kitchen layout is visible; the construction price, included upgrades and remaining lot availability may not be.

Use a few consistent categories such as circulation, storage, daylight, outdoor space and maintenance. Write down which aspects you want to reproduce and which are simply attractive in that setting. A dramatic room or view can depend on the particular lot, so bring the parcel question into the next conversation.

Identify the team behind the example

Ask who was responsible for architecture, interior design, construction and landscape work. A builder may coordinate outside specialists, and a show home can involve products or contributions that differ from an ordinary client contract. Identify which parts of that team and specification would be included in your proposal.

If the example is a spec home, discuss which choices were made before construction and whether changes are still possible. If it is a completed custom commission, ask for a comparable process example instead of assuming the same home can be repeated at the same cost or on a different site.

Use the event as one step in the shortlist

After selecting relevant examples, compare current company scope, government records and recent references. Ask about the intended city and schedule directly. A past event appearance cannot establish that a builder is accepting work or has access to a particular neighborhood today.

Keep the research date and distinguish historical event pages from current booking information. The completed October 2026 tour is useful evidence of that season; it is not an invitation to attend an event whose dates have already passed.
